The serpentine beads along with the pale, almost celadon green glaze remind me of early sung dynasty pottery.  It is that connection which gives this piece its name.

The warm, rich colors of the unakite beads pick up the color of the mica worked into the clay in this necklace.  The bone beads, from India, and the brass beads from Africa, combined with the cross hatching of netting impressed into the clay inspired the title.

Many of my beads are available for purchase online at JustBeads.com. This site allows me to show some of my newest work as well as the old favorites which form the cornerstones of my body of work. Whether I'm experimenting with new glazes on familiar forms or trying out new forms, auctions allow me to put new work where jewelry designers can see it.
