The serpentine
beads along with the pale, almost celadon green glaze remind me of early
sung dynasty pottery. It is that connection which gives this piece
its name.

Spice
Trade: Kimono inspired necklace with unakite,
bone and brass beads
©2001
Andi Fasimpaur
The warm, rich colors of the unakite beads pick up the color of the
mica worked into the clay in this necklace. The bone beads, from
India, and the brass beads from Africa, combined with the cross hatching
of netting impressed into the clay inspired the title.

set off a simple arrangement of recycled glass beads and simple copper
discs.
